Old Mill
in Rožany at Šluknov, which can be found in the very northern part
of the Czech Republic at the German border. It is a late baroque
storeyed mill, which was proclaimed a cultural sight in 1958. The
mill was founded in 1797 and it worked till 1945 after its
renovation in 1863. It alternately dilapidated after departure of
original owners till 2002, when we started with its renovation.
Renovating it, we
tried for preservation of original architecture as well as
preservation of original natural environment for the mill;
outstanding bearing construction of trunk of stone posts and lintels,
mill race, where trouts and crayfish can be seen, a pond with
aquatic plants and you cannot miss a nix.
There are many possibilities of trips. E.g. beautiful environment
of National Park Czech Switzerland. The very northern town of
Bohemia – Šluknov with newly renovated castle. Rumburk with
monastery and Loretta Chapel. German Kirschau, where a thermal pool
can be found with salt water, sauna, salt cave and aromatherapy, all
for only 10 Euro per day. The environment is very suitable for
cyclists, because you can find us directly on the cycle track, which
is the part of long-distance cycle track from Ráj in Kokořín area to
Germany. It is only half a kilometer from our place to the state
border and that is why we are the very northern certificated
facility for cyclists in the whole area of the Czech Republic.
